Practical Test: Involves an eye test, 2 show me tell me questions, independent driving for 15 to 20 minutes. 4 pulling up on the left hand side. One behind a parked vehicle, and one on a hill. Two randomly anywhere. 1/3 manouvres. Front or rear bay parking. Paralell park round a vehicle and pulling up on the right hand side of the road, and reversing back two car lengths, and possibly a controlled stop (Emergency Stop).
Learn from a qualified instructor to build strong habits and prepare for real test conditions. Most learners require about 45 hours of professional lessons with a driving instructor. And 22 hours of practise without your instructor i.e parents or friends.
You'll be assessed on control, awareness, judgment, and responsibility. Avoid serious or dangerous faults, and keep minor faults under 15.
Go beyond basic driving: tackle roundabouts, dual carriageways, night driving, and poor weather conditions to build confidence and readiness. And make sure you are ready as you can be to take your driving test. Don't just have a go.
Some test centres have better pass rates. Avoid peak hours and get familiar with routes near your chosen location.
Sleep well, eat something light, arrive early, and stay calm. Don't let small mistakes throw you off during the test.
It's okay to fail—reflect on feedback from the examiner and focus on improvement with your instructor. You can retake the test after 10 working days.
